Duncan Stewart is morning Sports man for Gerry House on Gerry House and the House Foundation on The Big 98, WSIX-FM in Nashville, Tennessee.
Duncan was born in Concord, Massachusetts in 1946 and wanted to be a radio personality from an early age.
He got his start in Las Vegas in 1972 at KORK AM and KORK FM working in sales and production. He moved to around then to Arizona and worked for KHOS in Tucson and KOY in Phoenix, both times in sales.
A keen pianist, Duncan moved away from his radio interests and focused on music. But soon resurfaced back in his homestate of Massachusetts working as the morning personality for WMLO in Beverly.
Duncan soon found himself as music director and afternoon personality for Boston's country station, WDLW in 1980. Around this time, he also became the voice of Rick Pitino's Boston University basketball team.
Duncan headed for Nashville in 1983 after developing a love for the place. Duncan knew the music director at WSIX-FM and he was soon hired as Gerry House's Sports man, a role that he remains in to this day.
While Gerry and sideman Mike Bohan, who replaced Paul Randall in 1995, are in the studio for the whole show, Duncan and news man Al Voecks come in to do news and Sport every 30 minutes. They also play along on the 'Liars Club' and 'You Be The Judge'. Duncan is known to come up with silly answers in the latter game, where he, Bohan and Voecks have to decide on an answer to a trivia question set by House.
Duncan has many other roles over the past 20 plus years, including the role of WSIX-FM's promotions director, 980 WSIX-AM's program director and as host of 'Sports Night' on WWTN from 1987-1992.
Duncan has also done a lot more then just read Sports news. He has also been the play by play man for the Nashville Sounds AAA baseball team, hosted a Cincinnati Reds post game television show and in 2000, he hosted his 'House Foundation' Sports news from the Olympic Games in Sydney.
Since 1998, Duncan has written a weekly sports opinion column for the Daily News Journal newspaper and famously sat on a billboard for 33 days in support of the Tennessee Volunteer football team earning him and WSIX major media coverage.
Duncan feels himself truly blessed to have met his wife, Cheryl, and his hobbies and interests include sports (go figure!), playing the piano and drinking.
