Dugald, Manitoba
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dugald is a town in Manitoba, Canada, 22 km east of Winnipeg with a population of about 800. It was the site of a railway accident in 1947[1]. It is located in the rural municipality of Springfield.
In this accident, an extra passenger train made from older equipment collided with transcontinental passenger trains made from somewhat newer equipment, and the old carriages came off second best. It led to the purchase of new carriages by CN.
Dugald is also home to the Costume Museum, a museum dedicated to Canadian fashion.
