[edit] Yo, DTF!
Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. You've already met our self-proclaimed Reaganite (who seems so concerned about which posts are people's first), but I'll also welcome you; long time no see! I hope things are well with you!
One of the more interesting aspects of Wikipedia are the standing conflicts between right wing Americans and the rest of the world, and Fundamentalist Christian mostly-Americans and the rest of the world, but I'm sure you'll get to see that for yourself. Wiki is an interesting experiment, and a lot of fun, but I'm not yet ready to bet money on how it will ultimately work out. It's much easier to destroy information than to create and organize it, and this plays out daily here. Don't believe anything you read in the political articles and only half of what you read in controversial articles (about religion, gays, etc.). If in doubt, look at the article's history and see who's been making changes.
But again, welcome!

- Hey Atlant! Where have you been? I find this place more suited for nerds. I am so not a nerd. As you know, the dangers of my believing anything I read in the political articles are statistically non-existent. I signed up to express the opinion that blogs or message boards or communities or whatever I am supposed to call them today, anyway, I believe that anything that contains the text string "pedia" in its name should include blogs that permit expression of opinions that differ with Washington press releases should be included, and not deleted even though such opinions are disturbing to more sensitive viewers. I'm not sure what else I can say without violating some secret provision of the Patriot Act and getting the wikipedia founding nerds on the websites of interest list, but I have a blogrant.. http://ductapefatwa.blogspot.com/
- Now let me see if I can sign my name in the offically mandated nerdly fashion.

As you say, as a proud member of the Nerd Liberation Front, I've been right here! ;-) And I've been getting my political jollies as a board member of the NHCLU.
