[edit] Spell checking

Thanks for the correction, for some reason I seem to keep misspelling wikipedia! MartinRe 23:45, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Transparent editing

I'd like to invite you to have a short chat at Talk:Transparency. ;) -- Ravn 11:46, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Adam Boulton

I've disambiguated "Reading" in favour of Reading, Berkshire. In case you were wondering, I'm not a fan; I just noticed his name on the 'Year of birth missing' category and thought I'd have a go! Matve 17:58, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Transparent

Hoi duckbill,

I.m off for holiday, back around 20-3, so the mediation gets more time. Reg. Mion 12:06, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] iPod

The edit before the revert showed up as a giberish edit on the vandalism watch program. It was infact correct. This is how it looked before the revert. nano is 0.27 inches (6.9 mm) thick, weighs 1.5 ounces (42 g), and is 62% smaller by volume than its predecessor, available in 1 GB (introduced on February 7, 2006), 2 GB, and 4 GB models. It has a 65,536 color display that can show photographs, and connects to a computer via USB 2.0. The head

Notice the repeating  ? Although it might not be vandalism, it does qualify for a revert. As I and others on the vandalism watch are fighting with vandals all the time, we do not have the time to post a reason every time; we use templates which say what we are reverting it to. So as you may not see how it is justifide, too bad, it was to us. --OrbitOne 22:04, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I suppose your computer hid this, but when put together with out spaces, & n b s p ; showed up all over your edit. That is why your edit was reverted. --OrbitOne 22:13, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redding

Hello Duckbill. I see you've done some editing on the Redding page, so maybe you could answer my question. Currently on the disambiguation page, there are links to several pages with the word 'Redding' in them (i.e. Noel Redding). I'm simply trying to create a page for the band called Redding, but the link isn't working. It seems that the reason is that the page called Redding is already the link to the disambiguation page itself. Do you know of a way I can create a page called Redding? Thanks! Reddingmusic

Thank you very much for your comments. They were incredibly helpful. I'm new to using Wikipedia, but I think I've got a good handle on things now. The example of the "Oasis (band)" page was great. That seems to be just what I'm looking to do. I intend to create a history and biography for the band Redding on the "Redding (band)" page you created for me. Once again, thank you. Have a great weekend. Reddingmusic 19:50, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Avoid redirect" counter to WP:D

Sorry - I didn't know about that. CarolGray 16:32, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Reading, Berkshire

Hello there. The disambiguation is indeed appropriate. I apologize for not checking on that. Those articles were driving me insane and I got sloppy. James084 18:24, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] John Wymer

Thanks for pointing out the ambiguity Duckbill, I have made it point at the right Reading now. adamsan 17:03, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] mdash

You can add literal em dashes: — instead of HTML entities: — to avoid cluttering up the markup. — Omegatron 14:56, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Certainly dertainly I am happy with the UTF-8 creaminess. Up until now I have concentrated on getting the content nice. I suppose just entering the HTML entity, then doing "preview" and then pasting from the representation ought to do it nicely. Duckbill 21:10, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

:-) There is a box right below the edit box that lets you click and insert them: –—…[][[]]~|°§→#≈±−×¹²³‘“’” Also see WP:MOSDASH#Dashes_on_keyboardsOmegatron 22:20, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your mediation request

Hi there! It seems your Mediation Request from February 14 has managed to slip under the radar. I was wondering if this case still needed mediation. If so, I will update the case and add it back to the bottom of the list with today's date so it can be looked at once more. If not, I will close the case to help clean up the backlog in the case list. Feel free to reply here or on my talk page. Thanks. Cowman109Talk 19:04, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bits and bytes

Thanks for all your edits to these articles. I've seen them go by on my watchlist, and they all look good and helpful. — Omegatron 21:52, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Comment from Kickin' Da Speaker

Thank you for your message. I did not know about that aricle, and now understand the reason behind the use of nbsp; (sorry about my edit!).

However, for the units... I don't think it would make sense to have the whole article spell out the units everytime they reoccur. I believe it would be fine to have it like I first edited the article: in the first occurence of the unit, spell it out and give its abbreviation in parenthesis, then use the abbreviation. What do you think? I will not re-edit the SATA article for now. I'd like to have your opinion first. Thanks! Kickin' Da Speaker 22:01, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

The Template Barnstar
For a great[disambiguation needed] idea that will help us all at WP:DAB. Dekimasu 01:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

I think this is a brilliant idea. I've been working on the links to Fort William, and I've used your template to mark some American Fort Williams that, being British, I don't know enough about. Thank you. CarolGray 20:44, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
