Ducktown, Atlantic City

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ducktown is a district of Atlantic City, New Jersey stretching from Missouri Avenue to Texas Avenue. According to local legend, the area was named for the many duck farms found along the bay before the turn of the century. Although in recent times the district has become very diverse in its population, it was formally home to a large Italian American community and a few Italian flags can still be seen adorning buildings. Italian Mafia boss Nicodemo Scarfo, aka "Little Nicky", once called Ducktown his home, and his mother lived there for many years.
