Dubrava

Dubrava as a toponym is common in Slavic regions. Terminology is derived from an old Slavic word dub (oak) and it generally means "oak forest", "woods of dub". Oak was an important tree in Slavic mythology (and in Illyrian mythology).
Dubrava could mean any of the following:
- Dubrava, one of the largest neighbourhoods of Zagreb, Croatia. See Dubrava, Zagreb. The species of oak that grows in that area is Quercus robur L.
- Dubrava, a medieval Slavic settlement which later formed the city of Dubrovnik. The species of oak that grows in that area is Quercus ilex L.
