[edit] Details
Dublin North West is a parliamentary constituency in the Republic of Ireland. It is located in the north-western area of County Dublin. The constituency has an electorate of 47,641 and at present is served by 3 Teachtaí Dála (TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote.
The constituency is overwhelmingly urbanised and encompasses the Finglas, Ballymun and Whitehall electoral areas of Dublin City Council in their entirety together with the Santry area of Fingal County Council. The constituency is due to gain some extra territory at the next election. It is proposed that parts of the Dublin North Central constituency be moved to this constituency and that the Dunsink and Scribblestown areas be moved out of the Dublin West constituency.
