Dubai Modern High School

Dubai Modern High School (originally The Modern High School, Dubai) is an Indian-curriculum school in Dubai, founded in 1986. An integral part of the GEMS group of schools, it offers the ICSE syllabus and a day-boarding system which encompasses all aspects of a student's life.

The school was originally in the Karama area of Dubai. It had a humble beginning in portacabins, with only around 200 students. In 1988, it shifted to its current campus located near Safa Park in Jumeirah. The school recently celebrated its 20th anniversary on the 20th of September, with the first gathering of Alumni and the formation of the Alumni Association.

Academics is one of the strengths of Modern High. The school maintains consistent high scores in both the ICSE and ISC examinations.

In 2004, DMHS was honoured with having one of their students, Aditya Galgotia, becoming the All-India ISC topper, with an average of 98.75%

In 2005, the ICSE batch class average was 86.2%, with 33.5% of the students scoring above 90%. Shrivats Mohan Iyer topped the examination with 96.6%.

In the same year in the ISC, Aditya Shashi, scored 96.75%, which was the top mark for the science stream. Rishi Marwa came first in the commerce stream with an average of 95%.

In 2006, 31% of the ICSE candidates scored above 90%. Ankit Kushawaha came first with an average of 96.2%. Nikhil Krishnan topped the ISC exam, with 97.25% for the science stream. Pranita Fernandes topped the commerce stream with 96%(exact percentage to be confirmed).

There are 4 houses at Modern High,all of which are named after constellations. They are-

Pegasus, the Winged Horse (House Colour -Blue)
Orion, the Hunter (House Colour -Green)
Cygnus, the Swan (House Colour -Red)
Aquila, the Eagle (House Colour -Yellow)
