The booming city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has announced that it is interested in bidding for the right to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. The recent development of Dubai makes it an ideal city for the 2016 Olympic Games. The construction of Dubai Sports City and maltitude of new hotels also make Dubai a great location for the Olympics. Winning the 2016 Olympic bid would increase the speed of Dubai's emergence as a leading world city, as it is already the world's fastest growing city [citation needed] and it will soon complete the World's tallest building, the Burj Dubai.
