BIOGRAPHY

David Thomas is Executive Director of the Software Division of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Thomas provides strategic market consultation, research and analysis for senior industry executives on varied issues relating to the software industry, publishes wide industry knowledge and strategic insight for member companies on the latest trends, business issues and visionary topics as well as fosters partnership and alliance opportunities. He works with executives to develop showcase industry thought leadership and increase industry exposure.

Prior to joining SIIA, Thomas was the founder and CEO of Intacct, a leading software as a service provider that delivers ERP on Demand to more than 1800 clients. While at Intacct, Thomas built close integration partnerships with many of the leading SaaS companies to deliver an integrated service.

His standing as a technology visionary was cemented when he developed the first accounting software application for the PC while attending Arizona State University. He later invented and patented the software security dongle used to copy-protect software and launched one of the first web-based enterprise applications to extract information from legacy systems.

Thomas served as both a Board member and as Chairman of the SIIA Software Division Board (2002-2005) and was a Board member of the Panasonic Digital Concepts Center (1999-2004). He has been named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today Magazine (2001-2003) and, using these skills, raised $60m for four different companies.
