Drummond, New Brunswick

Drummond is a village in northwestern New Brunswick, Canada, approximately 5 kilometres southeast of Grand Falls in Victoria County. As of 2001 the population was 932, of which 95% are francophone.
The village was first settled by Irish immigrants in the 1850s. It was named after Gordon Drummond, a major in the British military. French settlement occurred in the latter half of the 19th century.
Drummond is an agricultural centre, with potato farming being the primary industry.
Ron Turcotte, who won the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing in 1973, was born in Drummond.
