Do you have a picture of your eyes and face? I am curious what the color combination (of skin and eyes and hair) looks like in a Swede with this eye color. Are you purely Swedish, or a mix of something else? I am Hungarian and Mexican. On the Hungarian side, I also have Ukrainian and ultimately Swedish ancestry, along with German (grandmother, who had brown eyes and dark brown hair). On the "Mexican" side, I am actually Spanish and Basque, with one Austrian grandmum. InFairness 09:38, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

I'll forgive you, you're Scandinavian, and it would seem that we are fairly closely related [if the theory about finnic peoples being aboriginal in northern Europe is true :)] but...we Magyars are central European. I understand that the appellation "eastern" came from the politics of East and West in the cold war, but culturally and historically we have way more in common with Austria, Germany, Poland, and even Scandinavia than with Russia. No offence taken, just offering our perspective in a spirit of friendship. BTW, what do I look like to you? I mean, if you had to guess? InFairness 05:35, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I was being slightly facetious in my reprimand. Of course, no offence taken. Actually, I do have Ukrainian (and we also think, but are not certain, but Swedish) ancestors. So right on both counts. But when people see me in person, I'm not sure what they say. I have dark red-brown hair, a mixed blond and red-brown goatee and I'm about 195cm. As for that theory, I recently read it somewhere, and I just can't remember where. I will get back to you when I find it. The article or study suggested that Fennic peoples (not Sami) may be the aboriginal peoples of northern Europe, from either the British isles or the Low Countries all the way to the Urals. I think it is pretty well accepted that Fennic peoples are at least the earliest, if not aboriginal, people of the northern part of European Russia. I took a history class once with a Finn who used to love to piss off our Russian teacher and say "Suuri Suomi—Uraliin asti"--I think it was something like "Greater Finland—all the way to the Urals". Anyway, when I find the article or study or whatever it was, I will show you. Do you have a pic of your eyes? I haven't seen anyone else with eyes my color. InFairness 03:38, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Have you a digital camera? I kept playing around and experimenting with different settings until I got one in focus and with accurate color reproduction. It takes a while, but I have a Nikon 4600, and I think the setting I used was [highest picture quality] and [closeup] under the "scenes" mode. So if you don't have my camera (which is almost certain) I would suggest trying a "close-up" setting and putting the camera about 25-30 cm away from your face, with a white light in FRONT of your face (not behind!), a white computer screen will be fine, and open your eyes wide (to get all of the colored area. Give this a try and let me know how it turns out. Happy easter! InFairness 08:14, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
