[edit] Paper filter

in which the brewing water doesn't go through a paper filter,

I think this should just be filter, since there is a discussion of metal filters.

It's more complicated than that. French press and espresso do go through a metal filter. Vacuum often uses a glass filter. Drip with a metal filter doesn't remove the oils and essences. How about the following:
Drip brewing with a paper filter produces clear, light-bodied coffee, which is free of sediments but also of some of coffee's oils and essences, which are trapped in the paper filter.
