Drist

Drist is a US punk-metal band from the San Francisco Bay area. Formed in 1997 in San Mateo California by Tyson Yen , Brian Da Motta, David Pearl and Chris Koenig
During this time (97-2002)the band recorded the "Sterile EP" as well as the bands first full length album "Bitter Halo" at Locomoto productions in Menlo Park, by producer Guy Higbey.
Over the years the band has been through a few lineup changes, Kyle Freeze, replacing Chris Koenig and Josh Stinson taking over on Guitar. After a few years then replacing Josh Stinson with Marcus Henderson(04-06)
Drist's "Decontrol" is one of the bonus songs in the PlayStation 2 game, Guitar Hero and the song "Arterial Black" is featured in its sequel, Guitar Hero II. Marcus Henderson also provided guitar work for 20 of the 30 covers in the original game.
Marcus left the group in early '06 and was replaced by Shauncho, former guitarist of the now defunct Southern California band X-Cell Factor and brother of Tyson Yen.
The word 'Drist' is a Welsh word, and is translated into 'Sad'.
