Drighlington

Drighlington is a small village 9 km (5 miles) to the south west of Leeds and 6 km (4 miles) south east of Bradford in the county of West Yorkshire.
The village is at the junction of the A58 road Leeds-Halifax road and the Bradford to Wakefield road known as the Drighlington Crossroads.
In this small village there is a few shops pubs and two schools. Drighlington are famous in the area for their sporting abilities in its football, rugby and cricket teams. It also has a large golf course called 'The Manor'.
Drighlington despite being in the Leeds Metropolitan District area considers it's a part of Bradford. It also has a Bradford postcode "BD11". However it has a Leeds telephone code "0113".
The battle of Adwalton Moor, part of the First English Civil War took place near the village in 1643.
Also the name of the village is often shortened to "Drig".
