Dream Street is pop singer Janet Jackson's second album, released in 1984.
More pop than her debut's "bubblegum soul" feel, the album wasn't the runaway success that Janet's father Joseph thought it would, peaking at #147 on the Billboard charts in 1984. Today this is Janet's rarest album and most sought after by fans, though it is still available as an expensive Japanese import.
It did have one memorable hit for Jackson, the Top 10 R&B single, Don't Stand Another Chance, produced by brother Marlon. Also, the video for the song "Dream Street" her first music video ever. It was shot during the shooting of the TV show "Fame".
Jackson would break out of her squeaky-clean sounds with her Control album in 1986.
