Dreadnaught (heavy metal band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dreadnaught are a heavy metal band from Melbourne, Australia.
The band name was originally spelt as Dreadnought but whilst attempting to register the name, it was discovered that a finance company already had the name trademarked.
The band was formed from a dissolution of various Tasmanian acts and moved to Melbourne shortly after formation.
During 1999 Dreadnaught supported Cathedral and Pitchshifter and embarked on a national tour with Nevermore.
In June 2001 they embarked on a joint tour with Frankenbok which took them through most of the country and was followed late in the year by shows with Devin Townsend and Nickelback, as well as a performance at the Metal For The Brain festival (their fifth to date).
