[edit] Mesoamerica Image

Thanks for the positive feedback. There doesn't seem to be a "squashed" problem anymore. It's just that when I first changed the image, it came out in my browser as if it were squashed into a space that was half as tall as the image appears now. It looks OK now though. Thanks for the offer of help anyway. --GringoInChile 20:22, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cinco Ranch High Image

hey, thanks for the welcome. I could use some help- added an image to a page (just search 'cinco,' should yield cinco ranch high school- only image on the page). Could use some help bringing the image fully in line with wikipedia policy (or dumping it if it is impossible to do so). Thanks a bunch!! - User:Tmbrtmbr

[edit] Oasisamerica

Hello Draeco, and thanks for voting in my recent RfA, which passed with a tally of (68/19/3). I appreciated your comments, which I hope to take on board in order to gain your respect in my work as an administrator. Best of luck in your continued editing of the encyclopedia! Request granted [1], per IAR (there is a reason why the page isn't protected, after all. :)) Sam Vimes 22:53, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hiatii (??)

Hi Draeco, thanks for the note. I too will be going on vacation, but not for another two weeks. I'll be gone for three weeks (July 2-29), but will have computer access for some of that time so I may still be active on WP. Have a great time in Thailand. Regards, Rodney Boyd 21:42, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question about style

Hi Draeco, thanks for welcoming me and the open invitation to ask questions. Here's one for you: I've been making contributions, and changes, to some local community pages (Darien, Norwalk, Stamford and other municipalities in Connecticut), and I've been told by another contributor that I shouldn't change the order of the categories (especially keeping "Demographics" up top). The only reason sited is "Wikipedia style." He says that other contributors told him that when he first started contributing.

I've looked around as best I can, and I can't find any official Wikipedia style for that kind of thing. I believe Rambot generated all the Demographics information for communities (I think actually creating most of those sites in the process), but I see nothing on his page about protecting the order, so I don't think it harms any updating process.

I see no harm in moving "Demographics" down farther on the page to make way for more interesting sections, and I strongly suspect that the only reason it's up high is because no one dared change the order before. What would be the best way for me to (a) research this; (b) avoid stepping on others' toes in as reasonable a way as possible; and (c) move "Demographics" down the way I want ti (if I still want to after learning more)? Thanks again. (sorry, can't find tildes on this keyboard) Noroton (Well, it's the next morning, and I just found the tilde key, so here you are.) Noroton 16:51, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I'm really messed up.

Gah! Why won't the picture on my first article, TreasureTrooper, scale? Also once that's been solved, can I create a discussion page for it? Allot has been happening with that and I'm curuous about it which is why I started the article. Great, and now I can't even find the article again in a search. Help? Please? [edit] ICRC

Hi Draeco, I'm still on vacation but my hiatus seems to be over. I had a look at your article. I wasn't sure of the best way to indicate suggestions--I didn't just want to edit your article in-place--so I created a copy in my user-space: User:Rodney Boyd/ICRC. I hope my editing conventions are more or less intelligible. As a general comment, I found that after an initial reading it still wasn't clear to me what the mandate of the ICRC is in contrast with that of other Red Cross organizations. I think I understand it now, but it's still a little murky. Regards, Rodney Boyd 00:42, 23 July 2006 (UTC)‎

[edit] Thanks for your welcome

This is probably long overdue, since it's been 8 months since you welcomed me to Wikipedia and I never responded. What can I say, I was kind of shy back then, but now, after I've just contributed a little more than 500 edits on the main space, I'm not as shy as I used to be . Anyway, I'd like to express my gratitude. Star Ghost 04:02, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Loreto

Could I ask you to have a look at this recent edit to Misión de Nuestra Señora de Loreto Conchó? It's summarized as "corrections, additions, pruning of extraneous material", but it sure looks to me like a lot of what was pruned was not by any means extraneous. At a quick glance, the article as rewritten removes, among other things, all mention of the 1767/1768 expulsion of the Jesuits and of the independence of Mexico. It seems to cut quite a bit else that is also relevant. On the other hand, it may have some actual "corrections and additions", so I hesitate to revert. And it's not a topic I know much about.

I see you worked extensively on this a while back, so I'm turning to you on this. - Jmabel | Talk 19:17, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
