Dranivia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dranivia was the third son of Uluilakeba I and last member of the noble household, Naivi, to hold the title Roko Sau of the Lau Islands. He is referred to as an usurper, as he snatched the chieftainship immediately after the absence of his uncle Matawalu from Lakeba, and without the consent of the Vuanirewa. It is likely that his action precipitated in kin slaying and the eventual subduing of the elder noble house of Naivi, by the younger noble households of Vatuwaqa and Matailakeba and complete elimination of any members of Naivi, as a contenders to the title of Tui Nayau to this day.
