Drama Centre
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Drama Centre is one of Europe's leading drama schools. It bases its methods on the Stanislavski method of transformation. The Drama Centre is part of Central St Martin's College, a college of the University of the Arts, London.
It is based in the centre of London in Clerkenwell and uses the local west end theatre, the Cochrane, for its third year performances.
The three year acting course is notoriously exhausting and rigorous, gaining Drama Centre the industry nickname of "the trauma centre" and is regarded as the toughest actor training in the UK, if not the world.
Previous students include Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany and Simon Callow.
