Dragan Nikolić (war criminal)

Dragan Nikolic (born 26 April 1957). He was the Serb commander of the Susica detention camp near Vlasenica in south-east Bosnia. Following an ICTY trial, he was sentenced to 23 years in prison on 18 December 2003. This was reduced to 20 years following a sentence appeal.

The Susica camp was alleged to have detained 8,000 Muslim and non-Serb civilians between May and October 1992. The camp was accused of being overcrowded, of not providing places for detainees to sleep, providing little food which was sometimes spoiled. It was also alleged to have beat detainees, with some dying from the injuries. Female detainees were alleged to have been sexually assaulted and raped.
