Dr. Mauri Ditzler

Dr. Mauri Ditzler, currently 13th president of Monmouth College, began his duties on July 1, 2005.

Ditzler graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wabash College in 1975. In 1979 he earned a Ph.D. from Duke University in analytical chemistry.

In 1994, after 15 years of serving as a faculty member at Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., Ditzler accepted a dean position at Millikin University. He served Millikin for 5 years (final year as Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs), after which he returned to his alma mater to became the Chief Academic Officer in 1999. After a national and local search, Ditzler was unanimously approved by the Monmouth College Board of Trustees in May of 2005.
[edit] Monmouth College Inauguration
Ditzler was inaugurated Homecoming Weekend 2005 on the Wallace Hall Plaza. The inauguration theme was “Civil Discourse – a Liberal Arts Tradition.” Speakers included David Bowers, chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. John Churchill, CEO of Phi Beta Kappa, and Dr. John Agresto, former president of St. John’s College.
