Dowra

Dowra is a small village in the north-west of County Cavan. Ireland, part of the village is located in County Leitrim . It is the first village on the river Shannon. The source of the river Shannon, known as the Shannon Pot is close by. The Cavan Way starts in village. The Leitrim way also passes through the village.

The village was formed in the late 1900's after another village close by Tober was washed away.

The remains of the Black Pigs Dyke can be seen outside the village.

Its main industry is agriculture. Dowra has a livestock mart
