Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami, is the central business district of Miami-Dade County and Miami, Florida. Points of interest in downtown include the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts, the Bayside Marketplace, and the American Airlines Arena. Brickell Avenue/Biscayne Boulevard is the main north-south road in the downtown area.
Downtown Miami is divided into distinct areas separated by the Miami River: The government and shopping district of northern downtown and the Brickell Financial District.

Miami-Dade Transit operates a downtown people mover, Metromover, and metro rapid transit system that runs through downtown, Metrorail. The University of Miami (UM), UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Tri-Rail, the Shops at Sunset Place, in addition to a plethora of other attractions are accessible via Metrorail.
