Downing College Boat Club (or DCBC) is the rowing club for members of Downing College, Cambridge. Despite the college admitting undergraduates in 1821, Downing's boatclub did not form until 1864. Not until the 1960s did Downing's 1st VIII regularly feature in the 1st division of the Lent and May Bumps. Since then, Downing men have held the headship of both events on several occasions. Downing women formed in 1981 and held their first headship of the Lent Bumps from 2004-2005. Downing women have never been head of the May Bumps, reaching their highest position of 5th in the last few years.
