Douglas County School District RE-1

Douglas County School District RE-1 is a school district that serves Douglas County, Colorado. It is the fourth-largest school district in Colorado, serving over 48,000 students with over 60 schools.
Douglas County School District was formed in 1958 by the consolidation of 17 smaller school districts, adding the "RE-1" to its name to note the district's first reorganization. The district manages 41 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, 7 high schools, 6 charter schools and four other facilities (e.g., Renaissance Expeditionary Learning/Outward Bound Magnet School). The district is led by a seven-member Board of Education.
