William Douglas Parker is the current chairman and chief executive officer of US Airways.
Parker has been with US Airways since June 1995, when he joined as senior vice president and chief financial officer of America West Airlines. He additionally held titles as executive vice president, corporate group, and chief operating officer before being elected chief executive officer and chairman of America West in September 2001. He continued as CEO of US Airways following the merger with America West Airlines in 2005.
Before joining America West Airlines, Parker was at American Airlines from 1986-1991, and was vice president and assistant treasurer at Northwest Airlines from 1991-1995.
Parker has a BA in economics from Albion College (1984) and an MBA from Vanderbilt University (1986). He lives in Paradise Valley, Arizona with his wife and three children.
According to documents Parker filed with the United States Federal Election Commission, he has made over $10,000 in contributions to Republican Senate and Congressional candidates, as well as several Republican organizations.
