Doug's Quest is a computer game in which the player aides the main character, a junior high school student named Dougie Pantz, on his quest to thwart the plans of a maniac cyborg to rid the world of all jams and jellies. Gameplay consists of solving puzzles, manipulating inventory items, and interacting with a variety of characters that can either help or hinder your progress.
Game input consists of text commands from the user's keyboard and limited joystick point-and-click instructions. Thus, the game's interface can be considered an early hybrid of those found in Infocom and LucasFilm Games titles.
Both the developer and publisher of this title filed for bankruptcy on December 21, 1984, amid a money laundering scandal. A handful of programmers and artists from Erwinkely Softworx went on to form the applications developer DEC Fine Cooking Software.
