[edit] Trivia
- It was written by Chris Thile
- It is approximately 3 minute and 19 seconds long.
- "Doubting Thomas" is an examination of human mortality much like Dust in the Wind by Kansas. Notably, the song links death to the need to take chances in the search for love. The narrator admits to a great deal of fear saying, "Sometimes I pray for a slap in the face then pray to be spared 'cause I'm a coward." Though the title is a reference to the biblical Doubting Thomas, the narrator is not certain if there is an afterlife or just "the dirt above and below me".
