Doubles football

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doubles is a game of football consisting of one goalkeeper, one goal and a number of teams of two people. The game begins with all the teams in the first round and the object is to score and progress to the next round. Each round remains a team that hasn’t scored and they are therefore eliminated. As the tournament progresses teams are eliminated and two teams are left for the final. In the final it is likely to up the goals needed in order to win to two or three and the winner is the team who scores the required goals first.

Doubles is renowned for its controversy; this is due the absence of a referee. The goalkeeper is assigned the job of referee but the teams that have already progressed sitting behind the goal have the final say. It is possible, or very likely your team is eliminated by a goal that didn’t actually go in if the teams behind the goal want to start the next round and walk on to the pitch.
