[edit] Yes Sir
Best wishes for Chrismas and the New year. And, which old user page you are referring to? Even if it continues, there is no harm, I feel. However, please indicate the user page you have in mind. Thanks. --Bhadani 15:20, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Engineering matters now better covered at the Wikicity
Dore, I can't understand your message on my user talk page. Maybe some links would help. Possibly you are suggesting that an article here be replaced by a copy of one that we have tidied up on the Engineering Wikicity. Probably not a good idea, because there were different authors. The best thing to do may be to add a note on the Wikipedia page that the same subject is covered in more detail on the wikicity (and give a link to it). Robin Patterson 04:32, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Injector
Its nice and informative, why don't you be bold and update the article page, so the matter gets attributed to you? :) =Nichalp «Talk»= 04:08, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Kalidasa
Hi Dore! I don't know yet about these details, but I'll let you know if I find out. Thanks. deeptrivia (talk) 19:17, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the link. I'll have a look soon! deeptrivia (talk) 20:47, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you
Hello Mr. Chakravarty,
This does not concern wikipedia or anything else.
I would like to take this opportunity, as an Indian and a believer in freedom, to thank you for the personal sacrifices you made for our country and us in the freedom struggle. I want you to know that I deeply appreciate the sacrifice made by people like you. The value of the struggle has only increased over time, and today only Indian soldiers may compare with the courage and patriotism of that era.
Even if the British did not agree till 1947, Mahatma Gandhi's soldiers gave every Indian freedom and dignity from the very first revolt. Your kind are a big reason I feel proud to be Indian.
My grandmother was a freedom fighter from Ahmedabad, but she passed away before I could fully appreciate what she and her generation had done for people like me, and thank her for it.
Once again, thank you very much.
Jai Sri Rama!
Rama's Arrow 06:02, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes thank you for the accounts. My grandmother used to tell me stories of the times and her exploits as freedom fighters with her friends as well.

[edit] Jakow Trachtenberg
Hello Sir, received your message as regards above. Although nothing is mentioned about copyright, I think it is implied in most of the case. Now, in such a situation, I suggest you may surely use the materials, with slight modification/ re-wording, etc. to avoid copyright problems. Thanks and happy new year. --Bhadani 15:52, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
A quick word of thanks for the birthday greetings. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 04:08, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Which stub?
Hello Sir, kindly let me know the name of the stub so that I may see the same. Thanks. --Bhadani 06:20, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, I got it. Thanks, and shall come back after sometimes, say within a day. --Bhadani 09:04, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Jakow Trachtenberg
That was a small correction. Everyone's learning constantly here. However, your enthusiasm and energy at this age is extraordinarily commendable. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 04:14, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Dose
Yes sir, Dose is as good as a fine and crisp Dosa. Perhaps the page will have to be moved to Dose(disambiguation) at a future time, if required. --Bhadani 14:08, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes Sir, I will surely do as desired by you. --Bhadani 14:20, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Dosing
Until there is an article for dosing, there should be a redirect to dose for the articles that link to dosing; just like trade-trading, etc. Words that differ in their suffix don't usually warrant separated articles, especially when they are disambiguation pages.--CDN99 18:17, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- I was thinking dosing could be incorporated into dose; since there's dosing in the medical sense, engineering sense, etc. it could be a paragraph in the (v)erb section of the dose disambiguation article. Look at the format of the disambiguation page radical for example; I couldn't find one with verb and noun sections. The dose/dosing article(s) may also be candidates for Wiktionary. Let me know what you think --CDN99 21:49, 17 December 2005 (UTC) (Talk)
- Sir, I understand that you want to have a page named dosing - and, in that case, I think the page should have sufficient contents to warrant an independent page. In case, you propose to have this as a dosing(disambiguation) page, I feel that a redirection link to Dose is perhaps ok. However, kindly seek opinions from other users likeGurubrahma, and Nichalp. Have a nice and merry Christmas! --Bhadani 07:07, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you want me to look at. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 06:00, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

- To see your edits, the best link is Special:Contributions/Dore_chakravarty. For accessing any other editor's links also, you can use the same link by putting that editor's name. As for dosing, I am currently having a look at it. --Gurubrahma 16:12, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, you've got it right. --Gurubrahma 18:26, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. --Bhadani 16:06, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Dharsana Satyagraha
During my school days, I had read about dharsana satyagraha..If I recollect it proprely, during the absence of Mahatma Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu and Maulana Azad led a peaceful agitation towards Dharsana Salt Works, where in satyagrahis were betan up brutually by the british.
There is no article on the matter. I dont have the proper source to create an article.. I would request you to please create an article if you have the source. Thanks --Aravind Parvatikar 09:23, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
No issues.... Thanks a bunch for your help. --Aravind Parvatikar 04:56, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

- Hello Doreji, I've responded to Mr. Parvatikar that any data on Dharasana should mainly go into Salt Satyagraha.
May God bless you and your family in this new year.

[edit] Pongal greetings
Sir, I am writing to say how much I admire your active involvement in Wikipedia. I first came across your images and writings in Quit India Movement and then in Porbandar and Condenser (steam turbine). I don't feel competent to even praise your contributions, I can only say that I greatly esteem them, as admire the fact that a gentleman of your seniority is involved with computers and blogging. Your involvement supplies a major lacuna in the creation of an online encyclopaedia: the fact is that most editors are young and inexperienced; this youth makes for some intemperance and lack of restraint, apart from amateurism in subject-matter. In many senses, Wikipedia is privilaged to count you among its contributors.
I have been meaning to approach you and convey my regards for a long time, and decided that Pongal is a good enough occasion, if one is needed. Permit me to wish you and your family a prosperous Sankaranti and every happiness in the year ahead. Best regards, ImpuMozhi 03:25, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Indian scripts
Sir, regarding how to write in the Kannada script on a computer and using the normal English keyboard: one has to download one of several available softwares on the computer to do that. I personally use "Baraha" software because it allows us to write in several scripts (all four south Indian scripts plus Devanagari) and is also available free of cost for downloading.
In the past few minutes, I first de-installed and then re-installed the “Baraha” software on my own computer, so that I may be able to accurately describe the installation procedure to you. The process is not only simple but also quite quick. In fact, my description of the process will take longer to read than actually doing the process! Please do not be dissuaded from the length of my description. It looks long and complex, but actually it is very simple.
I very much hope that you will make use of my description and install the software. When you finish the installation procedure, please give me a message and I will describe further the easy ways of using the software.
[edit] Procedure for installing “Baraha” software
- Please click on the link which is provided below:
- Note: It is a good idea to open this link in a separate window, so that you can read the procedure on this window and do the needful in the other window. To open the above link in a separate window, please drag your mouse to just touch the link. Then right-click the mouse (click the right side). A small window will open. In that window, select the second option which is "Open in new window".
- Then please go to nearly the end of that page, where, under the heading "Installation" we find the sub-heading "single-file installation". There we find the link with name "baraha60.exe". Please click on that name.
- Immediately a small window opens with three buttons: "Run", "Save" and "Cancel". Please click on the "Run" button.
- Next, another window will come up, asking "Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this program?" Please answer "Run" (press the "Run" button).
- Next, the screen will change colour and the Baraha "Set-up wizard" will show up. It will recommend that you "close all other applications" but you can ignore that. Please press the "Next" button.
- Next, the "License agreement" screen will show up. There is no particular need to read anything, but we need to first select the button which says "I accept the agreement" and then press the "Next" button.
- Next, another window named "setup" with sub-heading "select destination folder" will show up. Please do not try to change anything here. Just press the "Next" button again.
- Next window to show up will have sub-heading "Select Start Menu Folder". Again, please do nothing except click the "Next" button.
- Next window will have sub-heading "Select additional tasks". Please confirm that there is a tick-mark in the "create a desktop item" box. In case there is no tick-mark, please click there and thus place the tick-mark. Then press "Next".
- Next window will have sub-heading "Ready to install". Please press the "Install" button.
- Now the software will start getting downloaded. This may take either a few seconds or a few minutes, depending on what kind of internet connection you have.
- Next, a small window comes up with sub-heading "Fonts Installation". Please press "OK" (there is really no need to read anything).
- Next, another small window will come up named "Language options". You can select any of the given choices for "Default Indian Language". However, please be sure to select "English" as the "User Interface Language". Then please press "OK".
- The next screen which becomes available is titled "Completing the Baraha 6.0 setup wizard". Please press the "Finish" button.
- The installation is complete! The "Baraha" screen will open up automatically. Now you can start using the facility of writing in any of the five given scripts.
- On the lower side of the screen, please type "dore chakravarti" and you will be able to see how the software works.
When you reach this point sir, please give me a message and I will do what I can to facilitate your further use of the software. Of course, if you have any trouble at any point in following the procedure for installation of the software, please let me know immediately and I will do what I can in the matter. I hope this helps. Regards, ImpuMozhi 06:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] About myself
Sir, the whole procedure for downloading "Baraha" will not take more than 10 minutes -- my process description actually makes matters look more complex than they are. Anyway, you can download at any time at your convenience.
About myself, I also have partly grown up in Bangalore, and my family traditionally hails from a village near Mysore, but I think we have another point in common: you also are not actually Kannadiga, am I right? Sir, am I mistaken in surmising that you belong to the Hebbar Iyengar community? Also, you could hardly have known of my Kannada connection unless you had taken an interest in my contributions, and I am flattered at the attention -- very unexpected! Thank you very much sir. ImpuMozhi 06:36, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
- Sir, thank you so much for sending me the link to the website about your family. In particular, I find the old photographs very interesting. You have a fine collection of images! Regards, ImpuMozhi 16:07, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] FAC
Hi Doreji, I wanted to let you know that an article I've worked a lot on recently, the Political integration of India is now FAC. I hope you will have some time to consider the work and give it an up or down vote. Please don't consider this soliciting - I'm requesting your participation. Thanks! Rama's Arrow 04:29, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- Hi Doreji - This article focuses entirely on India's integration: accession of princely states and afterwards. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan was not involved in the process of integrating the princely states. The editors have avoided issues regarding the freedom struggle and partition to simply stick to the objective. Rama's Arrow 22:22, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thermal power plant
Some anonymous user had mischievously vandalised the article on Thermal power station to put Headline Text with this edit. Someone else has fixed it by going to the page history and reverting to an earlier version of the article. No problem now. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 05:32, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Meeting you
Hello, once you had told that during your next visit to Chennai, you would like to meet me. You had told of February 2006, already over. We may talk over phone, if you e-mail me your telephone number. Thanks. --Bhadani 16:58, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Holi greetings
Hi, I am wishing you a happy Holi, the unique Indian celebration of color and brotherhood among all members of the humanity. The festival falls on 15th March 2006. I have collected A Gift Pack of Quotationsfor you contained in the sections DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY and SOMETHING MORE, which are part of the on-going discussion pertaining to my nomination of Idleguy for adminship. You are aware of the tradition that if you throw colored water on flames of burning Holika, you enable a Prahlad to emerge from the flames!!! I again convey Holi greetings to you and your family!!! --Bhadani 14:27, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why so few Wikipedians are engineers?
I am trying to understand why there are so few Wikipedians who are graduate engineers. Once I get a grasp on that, perhaps I may be able to formulate some ideas on how to attract more experienced engineers to become Wikipedians. It would be very helpful if you would respond to these a few questions:
- Are you a university graduate engineer?
- Please indicate in which of these engineering disciplines you obtained your degree:
- Aeronautical or aerospace engineering
- Bioengineer or biological engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Civil engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Environmental engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Petroleum engineering
- Other
- In what year did you obtain your degree?
- What attracted you to participate in Wikipedia?
If you would rather not answer these questions on your Talk page, then you may respond on my User talk:mbeychok page. Or you may respond to me via Wikipedia's email which I have enabled on my User:mbeychok page.
If you would rather not respond at all, that's fine also. Regards, - mbeychok 04:28, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Dore, thanks for your response. I am a retired chemical engineer and also 83 years old. I would like to send you a Wikipedia email, but you have not enabled that feature. Perhaps, you don't know about it. First, you go to your User:Dore chakravarty page and click on the "My preferences" tab at the page top. Then about halfway down that page, on the right hand side, you will see a small box where you can check to enable your receiving email via Wikipedia. Besides checking that box, on that same page, you must furnish your email address (as part of your ID) to Wikipedia.
- If you wish to send me a Wikipedia email, go to my User:Mbeychok page. On the left hand side, just below the Search box, you will see "E-mail this user". Click on that and you can send me an email because I have enabled that feature. Regards, - mbeychok 07:19, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry Sir
As promised I could not come to your place in Chennai yesterday. I did not telephone to you, as I was feeling guilty. I will try to come in next three/ four days, after ascertaining your convenience over phone. Sorry Sir. Regards. --Bhadani 07:50, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- No you are the SIR. Actually, yesterday I was "taken" by "force" by my wife to Koyembedu Fruit Market to buy mangoes, etc. You know - we can not disobey our wike, that is the Indian culture. And, to-day, I went to "vote", and right now I got your message. I shall meet you = that is sure. And, I am waiting for the surprise, which you had promised. Regards. --Bhadani 10:57, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template_talk:Did_you_know#Chimney
Hi. Was not clear what you were trying to do, are you trying to nominate an article from a different wiki for the English Wikipedia Did You Know section? We don't typically take articles from other sources. The chimney article here is not new and not eligible. Your note also was placed at the very bottom of the page where it would likely not be noticed. Please reply here to keep this conversation threaded. ++Lar: t/c 17:48, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
