Dorothy Germain Porter

Dorothy Germain Porter (b.1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American golf champion. A graduate of Beaver College, Dorothy Germain won a number of Philadelphia junior and amateur championships. In 1946 she captured the first of her three Pennsylvania Women's Amateur Championships.

Married to Mark A. Porter, in 1949 she won the United States Women's Amateur Golf Championship. She was a member of the U.S. team that won the 1950 Curtis Cup and captained the 1966 team to victory. In 1977 Dorothy Porter became the first Women's Amateur Champion to win the United States Senior Women's Amateur Golf Championship. She went on to win the Seniors' title again in 1980, 1981, and 1983.

Dorothy Porter was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
