Donovan Field at Brother Gilbert Stadium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Donovan Field at Brother Gilbert Stadium, formerly simply known as Brother Gilbert Stadium (1988-2002), is the stadium home to the Malden Catholic High School football, soccer, and lacrosse programs in Malden, Massachusetts. The stadium was constructed in 1988, so that Malden Catholic teams would no longer have to use the public Roosevelt Park, down the street off campus. The stadium used a natural grass playing field from 1988-2002. Following the 2002 football season, the stadium was closed in order to replace the grass with FieldTurf (grass never grew well at this stadium). The stadium reopened in fall 2003, under its current name Donovan Field at Brother Gilbert Stadium.
