Donny Anggoro

Donny Anggoro was born in Jakarta, November 1975. Known in Indonesia as a poet, story writer, editor, novelist, book reviewer, and journalist. He was one of the founders of Cybersastra.net, the first literary web site in Indonesia with his colleagues, Nanang Suryadi and Yono Wardito since 1999. His works published in various journals, magazines, and newspapers: Hai, Pantau, Aufklarung, Aksara, Genta Budaya, Tradisi, Koran Tempo, Kompas, Lamin Sastra Balikpapan, and Sinar Harapan. Besides literature, a lot number of his comic review also could be found in important newspapers and magazines like The Jakarta Post, Matabaca, and Kompas. His movie critic also could be found in F magazine and Layarperak.com.


In August 2002 he was invited to The International Society of Poet’s Convention and Symposium, Washington DC after his English poet “In My Time” selected in collection of poems “Letters from The Soul”. “Letters from The Soul” were published by The International Library of Poetry. In September 2002 he was invited as a juror in Khatulistiwa Literary Award from The Khatulistiwa Foundation. He was also invited as an guest editor for Tabloid SENIOR, one of the healthy lifestyle magazine were published by sub division of Kompas-Gramedia Group in November 2003 until March 2004.

Now he lives in Jakarta as journalist and freelance editor/translator.
