Donal O'Grady

Donal O'Grady is a former Irish hurling manager and former hurler with Cork.
Donal O'Grady was appointed manager of the Cork senior hurling team in December 2002. His appointment followed a year of turmoil for the hurling team, who went on strike looking for better conditions. In his first year in charge O'Grady guided the team to their first Munster Championship title in three years. They also reached the All-Ireland Hurling Final, however, Cork lost out narrowly to Kilkenny on that occasion. In his second season in charge Cork lost out in the Munster Final but defeated Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. O'Grady retired as manager shortly after that win. He currently works as a panellist on The Sunday Game.
O'Grady also played hurling with Cork and St. Finbarr's at full-back in his early years. He won a National League medal with Cork in 1981 and an All-Ireland medal in 1984. He retired from playing shortly after but became a selector when Cork won the 1986 All-Ireland.
