Don Ciccio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Don Ciccio is a fictional mafia Don in the The Godfather Part II. He was portrayed by the actor Giuseppe Sillato who has only been in three movies to date.

Don Ciccio ruled over the small Sicilian city of Corleone, the birthplace of Vito Andolini, who would later grow up to be the great Don Corleone. Don Ciccio murdered Vito's father, Antonio Andolini, which made Vito's brother, Paolo, swear a vendetta against Ciccio. Ciccio had Vito's brother killed during his father's funeral. His mother went to Ciccio to beg that he spare her only remaining son's life. Ciccio refused, which prompted her to attack the Don. Ciccio's bodyguard shot and killed her with a lupara. Vito managed to escape to the United States with the help of friends.

Many years later, a grown Vito, now known as Vito Corleone, exacted revenge on Don Ciccio by stabbing him to death.
