[edit] Fall

The Prep fields football, soccer and cross country teams in the fall. The cross country team is currently top-ranked in New Jersey and recently ended Christian Brothers Academy's 11-year winning streak at the state group championships.[1] The soccer team is always a competitor for a state title and has developed into a highly respected program in New Jersey. Don Bosco Prep's football program is a competitor for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Parochial Group 4 championship almost every year, appearing in all state finals since 2003. Don Bosco Prep has been boosted by regular season competition with perennial powerhouses such as Bergen Catholic High School and Saint Joseph Regional High School. Don Bosco's football team is currently ranked among the top 20 teams in the country by USA Today and as the #1 High School football team in the country by MaxPreps.com. In 2006, they defeated St. Peter's Prep, in the USA Today game of the week between #10(St Peters) and #13 (DBP), 41-0 to capture the state Non-Public Group 4 title. Don Bosco Prep football games often appear on regional or national TV. In the past, games have been featured on MSG Network (NY Region), CN8 (NY and PA Region), ESPNU, and YES Network. Don Bosco Prep competes in the Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League (NNJIL).

[edit] Winter

The Prep currently fields eight varsity athletic teams in the winter including a County Champion basketball team, a hockey team, wrestling, and bowling programs. DBP also has swimming and fencing teams, a ski racing team and an indoor track & field program. Don Bosco's ski team has won the league championship five years in a row, and always has a strong showing in the state race. Don Bosco has recently offered a swimming program.

[edit] Spring

The school offers seven varsity sports in the spring season including baseball, crew, golf, lacrosse, outdoor track, tennis, and volleyball. Baseball won the county title in 2006 and the lacrosse team is a perennial powerhouse, as are the track and volleyball teams. The golf team is also quite good.

The Crew team, which was started in the spring of 2003, has grown into a regional powerhouse, winning several events and placing many boats in regattas in Philadelphia and Mercer Lake.
