Talk:Dominique Wilkins
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The list of years that he was on the University of Georgia team is an IMPORTANT piece of missing information. In fact, for every person, the list of years that he was in college is IMPORTANT, for those are crucial years in anyone's development. For example, in the case of Eisenhower and MacArthur, the years that they were at West Point are important, and in the case of Admiral Chester Nimitz, the years that he was at the USNA in Annapolis are important.
[edit] Nickname Reference
If Wilkins is commonly known as or often referred to as "'Nique", could someone that can verify this add it to the article? This is a disambiguation page-related question (referring to 'Nique). Courtland 04:33, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, this is verifiable: http://www.nba.com/history/players/wilkins_summary.html
[edit] Hall of Fame
Hall of Fame? is there any question regarding his admission ? Nique has provided fans so much passion, grace and excitement all while being humble which is a far cry from today's players. It's an outrage that he is not appreciated, that there are other players mentioned before he as a "50 greatest"( who are the numbnutz to exclude him?). How often does one see someone overcome a, Achilles Tendon rupture then comeback with a much better all-round game?. His only knock is that he allowed others to dictate his future with the trades But God bless this man! and put him in the Hall!
[edit] Candidate for the Ewing Theory
The article currently states that Wilkins is a candidate for the Ewing Theory. Though he was a huge star that never led his team to the Finals, I do not think he qualifies. The Hawks did not noticeably improve after his departure, and now have not made the playoffs seven years straight. This suggests to me that the statement should be removed. - Slow Graffiti 18:07, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
