Dolores McNamara (born January 13, 1960 in Blackpool, Lancashire, England) is the record-holding winner of EuroMillions. On July 31, 2005 she bought the winning lottery ticket, matching five numbers between 1 and 50, and two between 1 and 9. Her record breaking win was worth €115 million, the largest single cheque ever handed out to a EuroMillions lottery winner. McNamara lives in Limerick, Ireland.
On 16 July 2005 McNamara was only a few yards away from a PKK bomb attack in Kuşadası, Turkey. The bomb killed 5 people, including the 23-year old British woman Helen Bennett and the 17-year old Irish schoolgirl Tara Whelan. [1]
