Dolforwyn Castle

Dolforwyn Castle was built by Llewelyn ap Gruffydd in 1273 but fell to the English army under Roger Mortimer and Henry de Lacy, Earl of Lincoln, in 1277.
Dolforwyn Castle is west of the village of Abermule. Long term excavation of the site started in 1981 and was completed in 2000. The site is owned by Cadw (Welsh Historic Monuments).
