Dog violet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dog violet is the common name for various species of the plant genus Viola with unscented flowers, including the Common dog violet (Viola riviniana), the Early dog violet (Viola richenbachiana), and the Heath dog violet (Viola canina). The term arose to differentiate them from the scented sweet violet.
A number of species in the genus Erythronium in the family Liliaceae are sometimes referred to as Dog Tooth Violet.
