Dr. N. Zyme is a slightly absentminded biochemist who works at Megakat Biochemical Labs in the animated television series SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. His name is a pun on "enzyme". He was voiced by Paul Eiding, although he was miscredited in the end credits of The Giant Bacteria as Paul Elding. Zymne first appears briefly in the episode The Giant Bacteria, wherein he attempts to use the strongest antibiotics known to catkind against Dr. Viper's army of giant bacteria monsters. However, as Viper had planned ahead and made his bacteria immune to antibodies, this plan fails. Following this, Zyme is apparently killed when the final bacteria monster eats him (although this is never explicitly stated and whether or not Zyme survived is a matter for debate).

In The Origin of Dr. Viper, set before the events of The Giant Bacteria, it is revealed that Dr. Zyme and Dr. Viper had once been colleagues at Megakat Biochemical when Viper was still Dr. Elrod Purvis. The two co-develop Viper Mutagen 368, which the noble Zyme intends to donate to the city as a solution for world hunger and deforestation. Unfortunately the greedy Purvis wants to steal the mutagen, and attempts to do so when Zyme leaves for home. However Zyme forgets his reading glasses and returns, catching Purvis in the act. His attempts to prevent his colleague from escaping result in Purvis accidentally spilling it onto himself and ultimately becoming Dr. Viper.

Viper takes Zyme hostage along with Callie Briggs and Mayor Manx, keeping them tied up within a giant beehive-like structure and planning to mutate them into half cat, half snake mutants like himself using a new batch of Viper Mutagen. All three are rescued however by the SWAT Kats.
