From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dr. Achilles Milo is a fictional mad scientist in the DC Universe.
[edit] History
A renowned chemist who turned to crime, he used a variety of chemical and medical-related schemes to kill Batman involving subjecting Batman to a drug that made him afraid of anything bat-shaped, gassing Batman with a compound that made him lose his will to live, manipulating the werewolf-like Anthony Lupus into doing his bidding, taking control of Arkham Asylum, and attempting to make Batman insane with yet another gas. He was later exposed to chemicals that drove him insane, and he spent some time in Arkham Asylum. Batman consulted him on at least one occasion when he needed chemical expertise given to him by The Joker. After that, Dr. Milo retired from criminal activity.
[edit] In other media
Dr. Achilles Milo (who looks not dissimilar to Moe Howard), first appeared in the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Cat Scratch Fever," (voiced by Treat Williams) where he engineered a plague to infect cats for Roland Daggett. This plague also affected Catwoman when her cat Isis attacked her. Dr. Milo later reappeared in "Moon of the Wolf" where he was the one responsible for making an untraceable steroid/wolf hormone derivative for an athlete named Anthony Romulus, which not only enhanced his athletic abilities, but also turned him into a living werewolf. Batman caught him, however, and sent him to prison.
Milo later resurfaced in Justice League Unlimited as a member of Project Cadmus. Amanda Waller demoted him to a lower position after a failed warthog experiment in his research of Dr. Kirk Langstrom, the former Man-Bat. He then entered a room where Cadmus was holding Doomsday. After explaining his creation and his fight with Superman, Milo set Doomsday free to take revenge on Waller. However, Doomsday killed Milo offscreen upon release, telling him that his problem was solved. Then, he went after Superman. In this incarnation, Milo is played by Armin Shimerman.
