Do Detectives Think? is a short film made by the Hal Roach Studios in 1927, featuring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The film was made shortly before they were officially recognized as a double act, it is most notable for featuring the comedians in their familiar garb of crumpled suits and bowler hats for the very first time, the standard costumes of detectives of the time. Laurel and Hardy are very much a team in the film, but the character names "Stan" and "Ollie" are still a while off yet; the soubriquets "Ferdinand Finkleberry" (Stan) and "Sherlock Pinkham" (Ollie) are used instead.

The film also features Jimmy Finlayson, Noah Young and Viola Richard in support.
