Hi, Brian. No, you aren't breaking copyright laws, but reposting what we call "band vanity" articles, especially via sockpuupet accounts, tends to be frowned upon. On the other hand, you can talk about your personal projects on your user page. I hope this helps you to understand this place better. - Lucky 6.9 01:49, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Oops...sorry 'bout that. The system has a tendency to glitch. It sometimes credits the creation of the article with the poor user who tries to tag it. - Lucky 6.9 01:52, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Good idea ;-)

[edit] Free Church of the Divine Spirit

Not sure this is worth spending time/effort on. In their own words they are a "very small independent fellowship", probably not notable enough for an article. exolon 12:41, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

I agree, as it seems the article has been deleted. -ENIAC (Talk) (Current Projects) 12:48, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Guli Danda

Thanks for rewriting the section. I tried to avoid copying and was to edit the article further but meanwhile I had to leave my computer for my Class and Friday Prayers. So I couldn't complete the task. Thanks for finishing it. --Marwatt 21:16, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Camp Pathfinder Page

  • Respectfully, I don't think the Camp Pathfinder page is a good Speedy delete. I will add more content to the page soon. I realize it is very short right now. Grand Slam 7 14:17, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The daily aztec

Hey -- I think you are a little unclear about the difference between speedy deletion criteria and deletion criteria in general. Specifically, artices about non-notable subjects are very rarely ones we can speedy delete: in those cases, they have to be about individuals or small groups (like bands), and they have to have no claim of importance at all. I have replaced your tag on this article with a WP:PROD tag, which will hopefully work without contest. If not, you may have to bring the article to WP:AFD. Mangojuicetalk 14:43, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh I hear ya. I did that fairly frequently before I was an admin and really started dealing with WP:CSD. The problem with invalid speedies is that an admin would actually have to delete the article, out of process, and be willing to take the heat for it. I know, AfD takes 5 days. But in cases where speedy doesn't apply, the best you can do is try prod. If you think the creator is likely to remove the tag, you could just go for AfD directly, but in my experience that conclusion would be based on the fact that the creator is still working on the article... which means you should maybe give it a day before nominating it for deletion, just out of courtesy. [edit] John Frothingham

Yeah, I had that same doubt at first but then it seemed that he was more a technician than one of the scientists because he had a Masters rather than a doctorate and there was no other mention to any noteworthy contribution to science GringoInChile 00:07, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Prisoner of Zenda Summary

Hi, please, I want someone to correct the summary and then I can add it to The Prisoner of Zenda articlo. Good Bye. --FrederickJ 21:40, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

--It's awful my writting I know, thats why I want someone to correct it... Please!

[edit] Memory Alpha

I am aware that CC licences are incompatible. What I was not aware of was that memory alpha was not GFDL. It was an honest mistake from a misreading of the memory alpha page late at night, I saw the words "free licence" and moved on. Better a more conservative use of my tools, given that I am a recent admin. Best, Irongargoyle 17:11, 8 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism Tag

Sorry, I made a mistake with that article, but I can't get it right all the time!--Katieh5584 20:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Groves robotics

You recently tagged the Groves robotics article as a copyvio from http://www.tacom.army.mil/main/news/3-29-05.html. While the article is from the website you noted, the website is from the U.S. Army, which is part of the U.S. Government, and is thus in the public domain. — ERcheck (talk) 02:13, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User:Hellop123

What was the nonsense article this user just created? I want to confirm that before I block. Thanks, NawlinWiki 21:00, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NOT GUILTY!

If you create one more nonsense edit, you're gone. You've had plenty of warning. - Lucky 6.9 03:10, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Not Guilty - see my msg on your talk please. exolon 03:18, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I sincerely apologize. It appears that a system glitch did it to us again. The "warning" I referred to was my misinterpretaton of the above comment by NawlinWiki. I retract my statement and I hope that you accept my apology. Please don't hesitate to call upon me should you need help. Your edit history speaks for itself and I should have been more diligent before pulling the trigger. It was a busy evening of vandal-slaying, but that's not an excuse for such a horrendous error on my part. The very contrite and embarassed Lucky 6.9 05:07, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey I just created an article and your just going to come over and put that deletion thing on it.Hey man an article has to have 3-4 senteces to stay right --You Know who. 02:34, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, Djbrianuk!

Hello, Djbrianuk! I'm Clamster5. While creating new and interesting articles is extremely helpful to the Wikipedia project, there are more than 19,000 articles that need to cleaned up. These articles could use your knowledge and time. There are so many pages currently needing clean-up that there is guaranteed to be something that you find interesting. Even fixing up just one is a huge help. If every editor on wikipedia edited just one article each, the backlog would be cleared in no time.

Thanks! Clamster5.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Keithscottmadrid.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Keithscottmadrid.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] soil

if you think that link is so relevant, why don't you start a disambiguation going that says: for other uses see.., as it is it looks like grafitti and i am going to take it off again. trueblood 08:51, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for your interest in the black people artilce. We have had huge edit wars at the black people article because some editors want it to be about black in an ethnic context(i.e. African ancestry) while others want the article to be about black people as a generic term for all dark skinned people regardless of whether they're African descended or not. To solve this disagreement, we've decided to break the article into articles: Black people (capital B) for Black ethnicity since ethnic terms are capitalized, and black people (small b) since black when used as a trans-ethnic concept is not capitalized. [edit] Days in film

I don;t have all that at my fingertips, it will have to be added as people who know the info encounter the articles. I know, that they will be better as they are expanded, but I only have a small database of films at the moment (AFI 100 + Hitchcock mostly). Feel free to expand! —Hanuman Das 02:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

OK. I will add expand tags to the new ones as I created them. Right now I'm going through the AFI 100 to start. I know births, deaths should be added so I will start doing that also. Not my thing to keep track of them, but I'm sure it's someones :-) —Hanuman Das 02:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
