DJ Crook, also known as Crookone, is a disk jockey based out of Sacramento, California. He was born John Molina in Los Angeles, California. He is a member of Deftones frontman Chino Moreno's side project called Team Sleep. He is also featured on several Deftones tracks including "Lucky You", "Teenager", "Black Moon" and the remix of "Be Quiet and Drive" featured on their b-sides record. He regularly performs at various nightclubs around the Sacramento area, with his dj collective, Decibel Devils, which also features DJ and keyboardist Frank "NIT" Delgado, of Deftones. His earlier work with New York-native MC, DocDaWhoo?, aka 'Rufhead' and 'Da Lyrix' can also be found on the web. Crook's trademark mixes are eclectic, often featuring songs by bands from disparate genres including everything from Radiohead to Johnny Cash. He is currently demoing tracks for the new Team Sleep record, to be completed after Deftones tour in support of their album "Saturday Night Wrist". He is also rumored to be starting up a project with Rob Crow of Pinback and Zach Hill of Team Sleep, Hella. However, details on this are minimal.
