DJ Assault

DJ Assault (born Craig De Shan Adams) is a Detroit born ghettotech and hip hop DJ, artist and rapper. He became known at Electrofunk Records in 1996 and released a series of 12" records through to approximately 2000. He is best known for his track sex rap tracks, such as "Ass 'N' Titties", and his characteristic lisp.

Assault was born in Detroit on August 28th, 1973 to Alain and Patricia De Shan Adams. He grew up in an affluent suburb, discovering Electrofunk at the age of 15. He soon released the poorly-received 'Straight Up Detroit Shit, Vol. 1' in 1996. Since then, he has continued to be poorly received by the Electrofunk community. Assault has recently started his own label: Jefferson Avenue, and released another series of 12" records with a mix of the old Electrofunk songs and a new collection of tracks. These have also been poorly received.

DJ Assault has been criticized by many for his misogynistic attitude and low-quality rhymes. It has been alleged that he does not make his own beats, however this remains a rumor as of 2006.

DJ Assault's name can be pronounced DJ Assalt, which may or may not be a coincidence as many of his songs involve the buttocks.
