DJ Aphlatoon (real name Azhar) is known as the first Pakistani Remix Producer. In Arabic, the famous philosopher 'Plato' is known as 'Aphlatoon'. Born in Peshawar, Pakistan, dj aphlatoon moved to New York when he was 14. This is where he started remixing in 1996. He was the first DJ to release two albums containing only Pakistani songs remixed with hip hop, reggae and techno beats.
His first album "Mixistan" was released in 1999 online and through mp3.com label.
His second album "Shauq"(Urdu:hobby) was released in 2003 from Pakhits records.
In 2004 he released a remixed CD consisting of global music (Persian, Arabic, Dutch, English, Urdu, Hindi). This CD got the most exposure of all. Songs like "Suga suga feat. Jay Z", "Never Leave You", "Diwali Riddim Megamix" and "Flute rush" got the most recognition through mp3 downloads on the net.
