[edit] About Reasons for Disruption
Although this should not be the focus of the article it is worth mentioning some of the more unpalatable aspects of disruption/dissolving. One the reasons not clearly spelled out here is simply that there are some people who adopt who really should not have tried to have kids in the first place. Some want kids because they believe it will cure depression in their lives; some want kids even though they are physically or mentally incapable of caring for them; some simply don't know what they want. This is a sad but very real occurrence. And the fact that it does occur points to issues in the screening process, particularly with foreign adoptions.
