[edit] Disco Polo is here to stay!

I bought my first disco polo CD years aro, as a lark. This purchase changed my life. Here is a form of music that I can listen to all day, every day. I might describe it as Polish bubblegum music to a disco beat.

I buy every disco polo tape or CD I can get my hands on. I even have a DVD and a VHS film regarding disco polo.

Indeed, there are a couple of disco polo radio stations broadcasting on the internet that I listen to all day. One is www.discostacja.pl and the other is www.polskastacja.pl.

Frankly, I have been astonished at the angry reaction some people have shown toward disco polo.

I say that there is a place for music that is purely pleasant and fun.

[edit] A matter of folk

"During the 20th and 21st century, a revival of folk began and the term folk music took on a second meaning: it describes a particular kind of popular music which is culturally descended from or otherwise influenced by traditional folk music." - a quote from the folk music article for those who called disco-polo's predecessors "non-genuine" folk.
